Develop and implement procurement strategies specific to the needs of the mining industry, focusing on cost savings, quality, and reliability of supply.Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conducting thorough assessments of their reliability, quality standards, pricing structures, and delivery capabilities.Negotiate favorable terms and conditions with suppliers, securing competitive pricing, quality assurance, and timely delivery schedules. Regularly review and renew contracts to maintain optimal supplier relationships.Optimization: Develop policies for optimal inventory levels of raw materials, spare parts, and other essential supplies, ensuring uninterrupted operations while minimizing holding costs.Collaborate with department heads across operations, maintenance, and production to understand material and service requirements, aligning procurement activities with operational goals.Identify and assess risks in the supply chain, including geopolitical, market, and supplier-specific risks, developing contingency plans to mitigate potential disruptions.Oversee the use of procurement and ERP software for tracking orders, managing suppliers, and ensuring accurate documentation of all transactions.
