Job Description
The Admissions Counselor is responsible for recruiting and guiding prospective students through the application and admissions process. The role involves engaging with students, answering inquiries about the institution’s academic programs, and supporting students from the initial inquiry stage to enrollment. The Admissions Counselor also participates in recruitment events, evaluates applications, and assists in meeting the institution's enrollment goals.Student Engagement & Counseling: Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective students and families, providing information on academic programs, admissions requirements, campus life, scholarships, and financial aid. Application Assistance: Guide students through the application process by answering questions, reviewing required documents, and providing advice on completing essays and obtaining recommendation letters. Application Review: Evaluate and review student applications, including academic transcripts, test scores, extracurricular activities, and essays, to assess eligibility for admission. Recruitment Events: Represent the institution at high school visits, college fairs, virtual fairs, and other recruitment events to attract prospective students. Campus Tours & Interviews: Conduct campus tours and informational interviews for prospective students and their families to give them an insight into the institution’s offerings.
