Job Description

The Mining Engineer is responsible for the planning, design, and operation of mining projects to ensure efficient and safe extraction of minerals. This role includes assessing mineral deposits, designing mining operations, managing safety and environmental compliance, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize production and minimize environmental impact.Mine Planning and Design: Conduct geological surveys and feasibility studies to assess mineral deposits and evaluate the economic viability of mining projects. Design mining operations, including open-pit or underground mine layouts, and select appropriate mining methods and equipment. Develop detailed plans for mine development, drilling, blasting, and extraction techniques. Resource Estimation and Analysis: Utilize geological data and modeling software to estimate reserves and resources accurately. Analyze and interpret geological and geotechnical data to inform mining strategies and operational decisions. Prepare resource and reserve reports to comply with regulatory requirements. Project Management: Oversee mining projects from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget. Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to establish project timelines, objectives, and deliverables. Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as necessary to meet goals.
